Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 5, 2026
Introduction
EngramBio, Inc. (“EngramBio,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit engrambio.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and your rights regarding it. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
Information you provide.
When you submit our Contact or Join Us forms, you provide your name, email address, your message, and (for the Join Us form) your area of interest or role. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry or evaluate your interest in joining our team.
Information collected automatically.
Our hosting provider logs standard request information for each visit — your IP address, the resource requested, your browser type and version, and a timestamp. We use these logs only for security, debugging, and operational purposes. They are retained for approximately 30 days.
Cookies and similar technologies.
We do not set tracking cookies on the Site, and we do not use analytics tools that profile visitors. When your browser loads embedded resources (such as Google Fonts or our content delivery networks), the third-party providers may set their own cookies and log your IP address; we do not control or have access to that data.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to inquiries you submit through our forms.
- To consider your application or expression of interest in joining EngramBio.
- To maintain the security and proper operation of the Site.
- To comply with applicable law.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
How We Share Your Information
We share information only with the third-party service providers (“subprocessors”) that help us operate the Site:
- Google Cloud Platform — application hosting (Cloud Run), object storage (Cloud Storage), and access logs.
- Google Workspace / Gmail — transmission and storage of emails generated by our forms.
- jsDelivr — content delivery network for JavaScript libraries used by the Site.
- Google Fonts — web-font delivery; loads in your browser and logs your IP at Google.
- Tailwind CDN — CSS framework delivered to your browser; logs your IP.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of EngramBio, our users, or others.
Data Retention
- Form submissions are retained in our email systems indefinitely unless you request deletion.
- Server access logs are retained for approximately 30 days.
Your Rights
Regardless of where you reside, you may request:
- A copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate information.
- Deletion of your information (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction of, or objection to, our processing of your information.
- Portability of your information in a machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@engrambio.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, additional rights may apply to you under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), respectively. Our lawful bases for processing personal data submitted through our forms are your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our forms, please email privacy@engrambio.com and we will delete it.
Third-Party Links
The Site contains links to third-party websites — academic publishers, partner organizations, social media, and others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with any personal information.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS), secrets stored in Google Secret Manager, and least-privilege service-account access controls. No transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Significant changes will be announced on this page.
